Lorrha GAA News for 24 June

Senior: Lorrha's next game is against Ballina in round 4 of the County League on Sunday 25 June at 12 noon in Moatfield.



Junior: Lorrha will play Roscrea in the North Tipp Junior 'B' Hurling League final following their extra time win over Newport last weekend. This game is expected to be played on Sunday 2 July; venue to be confirmed.



Minor: Lorrha Rovers face Silvermines on Friday 30th June in Moatfield in the final group game of the football championship with the winner progressing to the semi-final.



The Hurling Championship will resume on Thursday 6th July with Lorrha Rovers at home to Kiladangan



Under 16: Lorrha Rovers begin their U16 'A' hurling campaign away to Borrisokane on Monday 3rd July. They are also grouped with Burgess, Toomavara and Roscrea.



Under 14: Lorrha Rovers Gaels hosted Portroe in Ballinderry last Wednesday and recorded an impressive 7-12 to 2-7 win. This Thursday, 22nd June, they host Roscrea in Moatfield at 7.30pm. Next Wednesday, 28th June, they travel to Cloughjordan to play Kilruane MacDonaghs at 6.30pm



Under 12: The U12 hurlers were defeated 1-11 to 1-5 by Burgess in round 2 of the hurling championship next year. Next Friday, 23rd June, Lorrha are at home to Borrisokane in Moatfield at 7.00pm.



Celtic Challenge: Hard luck to Daniel O'Donoghue and the Tipperary North-Mid U17 team who were defeated by North Cork in the section 2 semi-final in Golden last Saturday. Daniel started at midfield and played in all six games and will have gained great experience from this competition.



Tipperary: Best of luck to Brian Hogan and the Tipperary Under 21 Hurling team in the Munster quarter final against Limerick this Thursday evening.



Cul Camp: Lorrha Kellogg's Cul Camp takes place in Moatfield from Monday 24th to Friday 28th July from 10am to 2.30pm each day. Camp is open for 6-13 year olds, to register, go to www.kelloggsculcamps.gaa.ie and find the Lorrha camp in the Tipperary listing. The camp costs €60 for one child, €50 for a second and €40 for a third or more children and they will be provided with full camp kit.



Safety Measures at Moatfield: The club would like to thank Tipperary County Council, and particularly Councillor Michael O'Meara, in securing €10,000 funding towards public lighting at Moatfield as part of the ongoing traffic safety scheme which will be undertaken in the coming months.
